The first step in building your own swing is to decide what type of swing you want to have in your garden. One of our Pool Fun Tips is, that once you have decided on your model to build, look at the materials that make up the swing. This is of great importance, since in case of not having any necessary material you will not be able to start assembling it. To do this, discover everything you need in our section and order the materials you need to get down to work with your new swing.
It is very important to check that all the materials are available, otherwise you will not be able to start building or you will have to stop in the middle of building your new swing.
One of the main components of great importance that a swing must have is the crossbar or stringer. It is a stick, which is thicker than the swing leg sticks.
It usually comes with the holes already made so that you only have to put the carabiners that connect it to the structure of the swing.
Before starting to build, one of our Pool Fun tips is to take a look at our website and discover everything you need in our section so that your swing has the necessary and adequate materials.
Before you begin, you must dig four holes so that, once the construction of your swing is finished, you will bury the legs of the structure and be able to fix it properly to your garden soil.
Now that you have all the materials, you should leave them near you to dispose of them immediately. You can build the swing by yourself, but as Pool Fun Tips, we recommend that someone else help you build the swing. This is due to the fact that the swing already built in its final part is very heavy for a single person to lift, and, if you are helped by another person, the weight is shared by lifting the structure of your swing once it has been assembled.
You must first place all the carabiners on the crossbar. For this you must help yourself with a wrench of 17 to be able to correctly adjust the nuts on it, that way the swing will be more stable. It is important that you place the carabiners straight and with enough spacing to be able to properly hang the ropes from the support to be able to swing well.
Then you must place the corners to the crossbar, at the ends of the crossbar, using a 13 wrench to screw them to the wood, and then you must attach the four legs of the legs to the corners. Once the structure is ready, you can lift it between two.
Once the structure of the swing is lifted, you should start putting the accessories on it. For this you must use rings (attached to the carabiners), ropes and seats to fix them using these materials.
Once fixed, you must adjust and lower them so that they are not very high with respect to the ground and are at the appropriate height, neither too close to the ground nor too far from it.
To properly lay the anchors in your garden soil you need dry concrete and water. Concrete is very easy to get since they sell it at any hardware store.
Once you have it, you mix it with a little water, it becomes thick and, once you have this mixture ready, you have to put it in the holes you previously made to place the legs of the structure of your swing.
When the cement dries, you can already use your own swing and you can enjoy your wonderful construction!
