Locate leaks
The first step to take when repairing a hose is none other than locating leaks. To begin, you will have to find the hole through which the water is escaping. Sometimes it is an easy task to find the place where the water loss is taking place. In others, the holes will be very small, so locating such a leak will be a more complicated task. Once the hole is located, you must identify where this loss is located. Is it located at the faucet, at the junction of two hoses, at the junction with the sprayer or sprayer, or somewhere in the middle of the hose?
Apply petroleum jelly to the leak points
Once the water leak points are located, you must disconnect the hose you are fixing from the other devices or hoses, in order to lubricate the rocks of these with petroleum jelly. Then you can reconnect the hose and see how the leaks have decreased, even disappearing in some of the cases. In this step, you should pay special attention when you reconnect the devices, since your hands are smeared with petroleum jelly and you may not make this connection correctly.
Uses rubber cement at fissure and hole points
With the help of a paper towel, you should dry the part of the hose where the hole or cut is located. If the hole you want to repair is less than 30 centimeters from the end of the hose, you should use a wooden dowel wrapped in a piece of paper to clean the inside of the hose. Next, you must apply rubber adhesive to the hole and around it, and then fill the hole. Be careful in this step: you must fill the hole, but without putting too much as it could get inside the hose. If this happens, the cement could clog it, thereby increasing the water pressure and causing further leakage. Also, the hose could burst from pressure exerted on those weak points.
The tire puncture repair kit can be a great help
Once you have a tire puncture repair kit in your hands, you should carefully read the instructions for use, and apply the repair substance over the holes. Once it has dried, you should get a small sheet of solid rubber. If not, you can also cut a small square from some old rubber boots and it will also be valid. Then you should glue it on the leak and let it dry.
Get a joint for more serious fissures
To finish, turn off the water tap and cut off the damaged part of the hose. Once this is done, connect the union and your hose will be completely fixed.
