Time, a key factor
Camping in the sun is not the same as rain and cold. Before leaving, find out about the weather forecast, since a large part of your luggage will depend on it. And above all, keep in mind the possible thermal variations between day and night, as these changes are the ones that most demonstrate the shortcomings of our luggage. Always carry sun protection and a waterproof rain jacket. They are two essential elements that hardly take up space.
The store, your portable home
The tent is the fundamental pillar on which to build the camping. The size of this will depend on the number of people who are going to use it. For its assembly, we recommend always carrying a hammer, essential for driving the pegs. A sleeping bag and a pillow will make your stay more comfortable. And if you use an inflatable bed, don't forget to take an inflator, unless you have a self-inflating mattress like the ones we have in our store.
Time to eat
Camping cooking will depend a lot on whether you go alone or accompanied. Eating can be very simple if you are trekking alone, but a meal with family and friends will require many more elements. The camping gas and the portable fridge are the main ones, and they should not be missing in your luggage. Likewise, glasses, plates and cutlery are part of the basic equipment. Bring enough water to last the entire excursion, and don't forget the garbage bags for the waste. We must protect the environment.
What to wear
On a camping trip, comfort prevails over aesthetics. You should choose the clothes depending on the place you travel to and the weather forecast. Nor is camping the same in summer as in winter, as the volume of luggage will vary significantly. Be that as it may, it is advisable to always wear a rain protection raincoat (which can surprise us at any time of the year) and some extra slippers in case we have to change them. It is also important to have spare underwear, sleepwear and warm clothing. Depending on the destination, you may need to include a swimsuit in your backpack.
What do I really need?
It is not that you go camping with half a house on top. You have to know how to save space, otherwise an excess of luggage could ruin the getaway. Therefore, before preparing the backpack, think carefully about everything you might need. And also in what not. For example: do you need to carry a television to go camping? You are supposed to be in contact with nature and disconnect from everyday reality. So it limits the use of electronic devices, except for the GPS or the camera. If you are traveling as a family, it is advisable to carry at least a couple of phones and a portable charger.
Think of useful things you haven't fallen for. Are you going to travel in summer? So, almost certainly, you will need sunscreen and a mosquito repellent. Is the terrain steep? In that case, some trekking poles could come in handy. Toilet paper is another of those fundamental elements that are often forgotten. These are the products that you will really need.
To finish, here are some tips:
-Take care of your hygiene: the toothbrush and toothpaste are essential, as well as the bath gel, shampoo and towels. You will find these products in a reduced size, special for travel.
-Take care of the health: get a good medicine cabinet for emergency cases. That there is no lack of aspirin, bandaids and bandages.
-"Wild" objects: a flashlight for the night will always be useful. If you have a multipurpose knife, the time has come to take it with you.
