A four-wheeler (in some countries also called quadricycle, quadricycle or quadrimoto; four-track in Puerto Rico), or quad (in English all-terrain vehicle or ATV) is a four-wheeled vehicle similar to a motorcycle. It comes from the first tricycles, which had two rear wheels and one front, with the consequent stability and safety problems, in addition to the lack of propellant. Despite being the same, ATVs are designated for vehicles for recreational use or for agricultural tasks, while the quad concept is used when its function is closer to sportiness.
